James Albon

James Albon

James Albon is an artist and illustrator, originally based in Yorkshire, but soon to be Lyon, France. His work focuses on reportage drawing from everyday life around him, with a keen interest in people, their interactions, their relationships, and their stories. These are taken from loose, observational sketches and developed into bold, colourful drawings, prints and paintings. James studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, and went on to a postgraduate scholarship year at the Royal Drawing School in London. In 2012 he won the prestigious Gwen May award from the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, and his illustration clients include the Folio Society, the Guardian and the Wall Street Journal.
