Wild
9th February - 16th March 2019
Georgina McMaster, in her first solo exhibition at Doubtfire Gallery, offers a fantastic opportunity to see an eclectic range of her most recent work, capturing some wonderful depictions of animals. Painting predominantly in oil on canvas, sometimes with the background of the canvas blank to draw the focus purely on the animal and sometimes introducing a suggestion of the landscape and the environment, she achieves different textures by using lots of light layers of paint and a wide variety of brushes.

"My work is inspired not just by the wildlife of Scotland but from other study trips of wildlife from around the world. Capturing the character and soul of the animal in their eyes and the softness of the fur or feather on the beast is what I endeavour to create in my work."
